We are preparing to begin our counteroffensive against the inferiors that emerged beyond our subspace portal. The fleet currently proceeds to $b Verbek, the system where we encountered them. Verbek is a system in a satellite galaxy of our own, and it is of big moral importance to the Empire. When we control Verbek, we will be right in saying that our Empire spans multiple galaxies. We, the Sopul Fleet, have the honour of conquering the system.

According to scouting flights from moments ago, it would appear that they have set up a blockade around the jump node and are anticipating our arrival. Several cruiser and corvette vessels have been sighted, as well as defense platforms and fighters. We need to break through this blockade and secure the node if we are to reclaim the system against this widespread incursion.

To clear the blockade, we will first send bomber wings to weaken the inferiors. You, Aleph and Beth, will perform this task. Gimel and He, you will protect them, so that they can carry it out. Once this has been done, the Apodoulou will be sent to assist in destroying the heavier vessels. Destroy the weaker Cain class cruisers first, the Apodoulou will handle the rest. And do not be fooled. Although the corvette is ageing, she can be devastating when unleashed.

Given the distance our ships have to travel through this node, it may take a while before support or reinforcements arrive. Bear this in mind while destroying the blockade.

1	You performed excellently, as expected. Thanks to you all, we have reclaimed the node space between Vocruar and Verbek. The Sopul fleet is pouring into the system as we speak, slowly reclaiming lost territory. We have also dealt another harsh blow to the enemy. They will certainly not appreciate this, but no appreciation is expected. They are inferiors and deserve punishment for their agression against us. We will soon begin further mobilisation against our foe. Be ready by the next cycle, for the battle of Verbek has only just begun.
2	You had far more than sufficient firepower to decimate that poor excuse for a blockade, yet you have failed at such as simple task as defending one of our warships. We do not need failures like you within our ranks. Begone!	Disarm the heavy cannons of the Merihem and Caacrinolaas, they are the biggest threat to the Apodoulou.

Bemerkungen

In dieser Mission befindet man sich das erste Mal im Verbek System. Das bedeutet, dass innerhalb der Geschichte von Ancient-Shivan War das, aus FreeSpace 2 bekannte, dritte Knossos Portal direkt außerhalb unserer Galaxis führt.

Auch wenn nicht bekannt ist, ob andere Sprungknoten im Verbek System wieder zurück in die Milchstraße führen, wird zumindest die Möglichkeit aufgestellt, dass die Shivaner nicht aus unserer Galaxie stammen.
